Description

Lead product development from initial concept through volume manufacturing, focusing on mechanisms, actuators, and integrated electromechanical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical parts, managing complex assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Develop tightly integrated, compact electromechanical solutions in collaboration with electrical engineers.
• Execute engineering analysis and design validation testing using internal teams and external test labs.
• Perform Should Cost Analysis to improve gross margin and align manufacturing entitlement with product design.
• Create Test Plans, Reports, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) while supporting continuing engineering activities.

Required Skills

• 7-9 years of mechanical engineering experience, including 3 years in Should Cost Analysis.
• Proven expertise in the design of precision optical systems and opto-mechanical components.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for complex assembly management and ID surface integration.
• Experience with CAE tools for thermal dissipation, stress/strain, and impact analysis.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes including Injection Molding, Wire Drawing, Machining, Extrusion, Casting, and Sheet Metal.
• Technical familiarity with materials such as Nitinol, CRS, SS, and Polymers.
• Strong statistical tolerance analysis and metrology skills.
• Proficiency in Excel for complex data analysis, including array construction and pivot tables.
• Experience with DFM, DFSS, and FEA.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with medical device design and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes such as EOS and Gamma.
