Description

Design, simulate, and manufacture mechanical components for data center equipment, managing the full lifecycle from concept to production.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using PTC Creo, ensuring critical functional dimensions for prototyping and production.
• Structure bills of materials and manage product releases and changes via Agile PLM tools.
• Design heat sinks and mechanical enclosures based on thermal simulation inputs, including air flow and liquid cooling considerations.
• Collaborate with electrical teams to resolve PCB placement concerns and with contract manufacturers to address DFM issues.
• Execute thermal and airflow testing, debug prototypes in the lab, and track external lab results to drive design iterations.

Required Skills

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design.
• Expertise in PTC Creo for 3D modeling and detailed documentation.
• Experience designing sheet metal and plastic parts using soft and hard tooling guidelines.
• Knowledge of thermal simulation principles and airflow testing methodologies.
• Ability to manage cross-functional reviews and resolve production sustaining issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for engineering handoffs.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with PTC Mechanica (PTC Creo Simulate) and PTC Windchill.
• Background designing computer or network equipment for data center environments.
• Experience with liquid cooling systems.
