Description

You will design and integrate automotive mechatronics products such as key fobs, steering wheel switches, and ignition start/stop buttons.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate PCB boards and connectors within mechanical plastic enclosures while meeting packaging requirements.
• Create new 3D CAD concepts and modify solid and surface models and assemblies.
• Perform complete product-level tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Interpret results and provide feedback during DFM, FEA, and mold flow analysis meetings.
• Build, test, and improve prototype product builds using mechanical tools.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mechatronics product design.
• Proficiency in CREO and NX for complex A-class surface and solid modeling.
• Expertise in plastic products, die casting, and spring design.
• Experience with 2D drawing detailing and GD&T controls using CREO.
• Knowledge of multi-shot plastic designs, snap designs, ribs, and screw mating features.
• Skill in designing linkage mechanisms, silicone rubbers, sealing, and bearing components.
• Experience using CREO Mechanism, view reps, and exploded states.
• Competency in light pipe and light guide design and tact switch selection.
• Ability to design for customer specifications including button travel, HMI interface, and styling surfaces.

Preferred Skills

• BS or MS in engineering.
