Description

Design control system hardware and develop embedded software for mobile equipment, owning the full lifecycle from dynamic modeling to hardware validation.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dynamic modeling, simulation, and validation of machine sub-systems including engine, transmission, steering, and braking.
• Develop control algorithms in Matlab/Simulink and execute Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations using dSpace and NI tools.
• Design and test autonomous operation systems utilizing GPS, radar, vision, and other machine-based sensors.
• Conduct hardware prototype testing at proving grounds using real-time data acquisition tools and CAN Bus protocols.
• Generate and test embedded control code on actual hardware to ensure alignment with simulation predictions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mechatronics or control systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink for dynamic modeling and algorithm development.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation tools such as dSpace and NI.
• Knowledge of CAN Bus and J1939 protocols.
• Familiarity with Vector tools including CANalyzer, CANape, and CANoe.
• Experience with LabView and dSpace ControlDesk.
• Foundational knowledge in linear algebra, signal processing, Kalman filter algorithms, and microcontrollers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in automotive powertrain control systems.
• Background in embedded software development.
