Description

Coordinate state-level medical and healthcare emergency preparedness and response plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee content for ASPR Hospital Preparedness Program specialty plans, including Chemical Surge and Crisis Standards of Care.
• Create templates and guidance documents for hospitals, healthcare entities, and healthcare coalitions.
• Coordinate planning activities between IDOH Divisions, state agencies, and federal, state, and local emergency management partners.
• Assess local healthcare and medical capabilities regarding medical surge and healthcare response readiness.
• Support the DEP Training & Exercise section by developing exercises centered on healthcare surge and medical response activities.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in content creation, development, or implementation.
• Extensive knowledge of strategic, operational, and tactical plan development and administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio.
• Ability to utilize data and best practices to identify gaps in emergency healthcare and medical operations planning.
• Experience working with healthcare coalitions, hospitals, and emergency management partners.
• Knowledge of CDC, ASPR, and IDOH guidance documents and programs.
• Degree or a combination of accredited college training and relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• Participation in response operations during disasters requiring state-level support.
