Description

You will own the health, performance, and optimization of MemSQL/SingleStore database clusters.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor MemSQL/SingleStore clusters to identify performance bottlenecks and system anomalies.
• Perform Extreme Performance Tuning (xPT) for complex queries, workloads, and data pipelines.
• Tune SQL and PL/SQL queries, indexes, shards, and partitions for high-throughput workloads.
• Implement and maintain monitoring dashboards and perform root cause analysis for production issues.
• Automate routine monitoring, performance checks, and maintenance tasks using scripting.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with database engineering and optimization.
• Expertise with MemSQL (SingleStore).
• Proficiency in tuning SQL and PL/SQL queries and schemas.
• Experience with Python or Shell Scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows and performance optimization.
• Experience setting up monitoring with Grafana, DataDog, or Prometheus.
• Ability to analyze query execution plans and system metrics (CPU, I/O).
