Description

You will design, develop, and maintain Micro Focus COBOL batch and online applications, translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Micro Focus COBOL applications, handling file I/O for flat files, indexed, and VSAM equivalents.
• Create and maintain Windows batch and PowerShell scripts to automate job execution and system processes.
• Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries and stored procedures across MS SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Manage job scheduling and automation using CA Workload Automation (WLA).
• Participate in code reviews, adhere to coding standards, and coordinate with QA and operations teams for releases.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Micro Focus COBOL (Enterprise Developer/Server).
• Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server and Oracle Database administration and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience writing Windows batch scripts and PowerShell for automation.
• Practical knowledge of CA Workload Automation (WLA).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git/SVN) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using Visual Studio or Eclipse with Micro Focus IDE.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with legacy system migration or modernization projects.
• Background in financial or enterprise batch processing environments.
