Description

You will lead microbiological examinations and analyses to identify bacteria and yeast within the Antimicrobial Resistance Lab Network.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological examinations including culture, biochemical tests, PCR, and WGS of clinical specimens.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction from specimens and isolates using manual and automated methods.
• Execute molecular techniques including PCR, sequencing, MALDI-TOF, and WGS.
• Validate and interpret laboratory results while maintaining accurate records of patient test results.
• Manage quality control and quality assurance activities in strict adherence to CLIA regulations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in a laboratory environment.
• Proficiency in PCR and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS).
• Working knowledge of CLIA regulations and compliance.
• Experience with specimen handling, processing, and isolation of microorganisms.
• Ability to perform high-complexity testing and follow strict laboratory procedures.
• Capability to identify and troubleshoot problems affecting test performance.
• Experience with MALDI-TOF or sequencing technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Cross-training experience in molecular, viral, or serological techniques.
