Description

You will coordinate and perform microbiological examinations and analyses focused on antimicrobial resistance within the laboratory network.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological examinations including culture, biochemical tests, PCR, and WG S for the isolation and identification of bacteria and yeast.
• Execute nucleic acid extraction from specimens and isolates using manual and automated methods.
• Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results and findings.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities in strict adherence to CLIA regulations and laboratory policies.
• Maintain laboratory records, specimen handling procedures, and inventory of supplies.
• Assist in the preparation of epidemiological and statistical reports based on compiled data.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in PCR and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS).
• Experience performing biochemical tests.
• Knowledge of molecular biology and microbiological assays.
• Ability to perform high-complexity testing following established specimen handling and reporting protocols.
• Experience with MALDI-TOF and sequencing techniques.
• Capability to identify and correct problems affecting test performance or reporting.
• Graduate degree in a relevant field.
