Description

You will perform microbiological examinations and analyses to identify enteric bacteria and other microorganisms from clinical specimens.

Responsibilities

• Conduct examinations for molecular detection, isolation, and identification of microorganisms, toxins, antigens, or nucleic acids.
• Execute nucleic acid extraction from specimens and isolates using manual and automated methods.
• Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results and reports.
• Maintain laboratory records for submitted samples, specimens, and referrals.
• Manage laboratory supply inventory to ensure continuous testing capacity.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in microbiology or related laboratory settings.
• Proficiency with PCR, WGS, and MALDI-TOF.
• Experience with culture, biochemical tests, EIA, serotyping, and molecular biology assays.
• Knowledge of specimen handling, processing, and reporting procedures.
• Deep understanding of laboratory safety practices and principles.
• Familiarity with CLIA regulations and requirements for personnel certification.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to analyze and prepare epidemiological or statistical reports.
• Strong technical communication skills for reporting findings.
