Description

You will perform microbiological examinations to isolate and identify enteric bacteria and other microorganisms.

Responsibilities

• Execute culture, biochemical tests, EIA, serotyping, PCR, and WGSS analyses.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction from specimens and isolates using manual and automated methods.
• Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results and reports.
• Conduct quality control checks on methods, materials, and equipment in adherence to CLIA regulations.
• Maintain documentation for quality assurance activities, instrument calibrations, and corrective actions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in molecular techniques including PCR and sequencing.
• Hands-on experience with MALDI-TOF and WGSS.
• Knowledge of specimen handling, processing, and reporting procedures.
• Ability to perform high-complexity testing in accordance with CLIA standards.
• Experience with the isolation and identification of Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, Vibrio, Listeria, and Campylobacter.
• Competency in maintaining laboratory record systems and inventory.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate-level education.
