Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Micro Focus .NET COBOL (Visual COBOL/Net COBOL)
• Design, code, test, debug, and deploy enterprise applications
• Modernize legacy COBOL applications to .NET architecture
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions
• Integrate COBOL applications with REST/SOAP APIs and external systems
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Prepare technical documentation and support system enhancements
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers throughout the SDLC

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Micro Focus .NET COBOL/Visual COBOL development
• Strong knowledge of COBOL programming and legacy system modernization
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Micro Focus Enterprise/Visual COBOL
• Strong SQL experience (SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2)
• Experience with .NET Framework/.NET, C#, or interoperability between COBOL and .NET
• Knowledge of Windows Server and IIS
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, or TFS
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Web Services (SOAP), or Microservices (preferred)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology (preferred)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (preferred)
