Description

You will install, configure, administer, and upgrade IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and IBM ACE/IIB environments. This role owns the middleware infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for production systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Queue Managers, Clusters, Channels, Topics, Brokers, and Message Flows.
• Configure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning for middleware components.
• Administer Kafka clusters, consumer groups, connectors, and Schema Registry.
• Monitor infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Automate administration tasks using Shell and Python scripts.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in IBM MQ Administration.
• Strong experience with IBM ACE / IIB / Message Broker.
• 5 years of Apache Kafka & Confluent Platform administration.
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
• Expertise in MQ clustering, RDQM, and Multi-instance Queue Managers.
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS, OAM, SASL_SSL, and ACL Security.
• Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, MirrorMaker, and Debezium.
• Linux/AIX administration and scripting using Shell, Python, and MQSC.
• Database experience with Oracle, DB2, or PostgreSQL.

Preferred Skills

• IBM MQ Certifications and experience with RabbitMQ or DataPower.
• Experience migrating MQ to Kafka and Kubernetes/GKE/OpenShift exposure.
