Description

You will manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of WebSphere and IBM/Apache HTTP servers. You own the stability and performance of the middleware layer.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and migrate WebSphere and IBM/Apache HTTP servers.
• Manage clusters, data sources, JMS servers, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot application performance issues, monitor heap size, and analyze thread dumps.
• Execute configuration changes, security patching, and SSL certificate renewals.
• Prepare DR drill activities, POA, and rollback plans for server changes.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience with WebSphere administration and configuration.
• Hands-on experience with IBM/Apache HTTP servers.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting application slowness and memory issues.
• Ability to manage Nproc and other middleware-related OS parameters.
• Experience performing L2 support activities and shadowing L2 engineers.
• Knowledge of SSL certificate creation and renewal.
• Ability to handle server hardening and VA related tasks.
• Monitor OS parameters including disk space, open files, Nproc, and CPU utilization.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with monitoring IBM/Apache HTTP servers for 500 or 404 errors and managing logs.
