Description

You will design, install, and configure multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets on Linux platforms. You are responsible for ensuring even data distribution, performance tuning, and security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Configure MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters based on application requirements.
• Set up MongoDB BRS and Ops Manager, onboarding clusters and managing group/project configurations.
• Enhance security by implementing X.509 and TLS authentication to meet security standards.
• Automate backup, restore, and monitoring jobs using Python and shell scripting.
• Manage cluster upgrades, migrations, and scaling by adding or removing nodes as needed.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience with MongoDB administration.
• Hands-on experience designing and configuring sharded clusters and replica sets on Linux.
• Deep knowledge of Ops Manager, including upgrades and architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for automation.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of query plan architecture and performance tuning at the host and database levels.
• Knowledge of range-based and hash-based sharding strategies.
• Ability to create text indexes and manage data growth from replica sets to sharded clusters.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with MongoDB change streams and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
