Description

You will manage and scale MongoDB-based database infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for systems handling billions of documents.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and mature MongoDB operations, including platform lifecycles, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Design backend database solutions to meet engineering data and security requirements.
• Collaborate with security teams on compliance, penetration testing, and mitigation strategies.
• Scale clusters by adding or removing replica and shard nodes as required.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Design, installation, and configuration of multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets on AWS EC2.
• Experience converting non-sharded replica sets to sharded clusters for growth and optimization.
• Expertise in shard key selection and ensuring even data distribution.
• Proficiency in query planning, performance tuning, and Mongoose ODM.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDump and MongoRestore.
• Deep knowledge of MongoDB replication architecture and change streams.
• Understanding of certificate-based x509 authentication and authorization mechanisms.
