Description

You will manage and support production MongoDB, Cassandra, and Snowflake database environments, providing 24/7 incident management and on-call support.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MongoDB clusters, replica sets, and sharding across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Optimize performance by analyzing query strategies, indexing, and tuning server parameters, disk I/O, and memory usage.
• Manage security protocols including access control, authentication (LDAP, x.509, SCRAM), and encryption.
• Automate routine tasks such as backups, restores, and health checks using Shell or Python scripting.
• Maintain detailed documentation regarding architecture, configurations, and incident reports.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a MongoDB DBA in production support environments.
• Deep understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharding, and the aggregation framework.
• Experience with backup and recovery tools such as mongodump, mongorestore, and Ops Manager.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems and scripting with Shell or Python.
• Experience monitoring system health using Prometheus, Grafana, or DataStax OpsCenter.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, high-availability concepts, and capacity planning.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration patterns.
• Familiarity with relational database concepts and troubleshooting complex cluster issues.

Preferred Skills

• MongoDB Atlas or other cloud-managed MongoDB services experience.
• MongoDB Certified DBA Associate or Professional certification.
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
