Description

Design, develop, and maintain Chef cookbooks for IBM MQ automation, covering installation, upgrades, patching, and configuration management.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build idempotent Chef roles and recipes for repeatable deployments of Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, and Listeners.
• Integrate Chef cookbooks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated and consistent infrastructure delivery.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and Kitchen tests to validate automation logic and configuration integrity.
• Ensure compliance, resiliency, and configuration consistency across hybrid and cloud environments.
• Provide L3 support for MQ automation-related issues and contribute to automation standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Chef, including Cookbooks, Recipes, Roles, and Environments.
• Strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management.
• Deep expertise in IBM MQ Administration, including Queue Managers, Clustering, and MQ Configuration.
• Proficiency in CI/CD frameworks and automation tools.
• Experience working in hybrid and cloud environments.
• Ability to design resilient and compliant automation solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with advanced IBM MQ clustering scenarios.
• Knowledge of additional configuration management tools beyond Chef.
