Description

You own the administration and operations of Azure SQL Database and SQL Managed Instance environments supporting financial-services applications.

Responsibilities

• Configure vCoreDTU sizing, storage, backups, geo-replication, and failover groups to meet SLA and regulatory needs.
• Lead end-to-end SQL Server migrations from on-premises to Azure, defining strategies and coordinating cutover.
• Monitor database health using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, proactively resolving performance and availability issues.
• Implement Azure AD authentication, RBAC, TDE, auditing, and threat detection on database services.
• Assist with automating monitoring, reporting, and routine DBA tasks using PowerShell and Azure Automation.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise in managing Azure SQL Database and SQL Managed Instance.
• Proficiency in SQL Server migration using Azure Migrate and Data Migration Assistant (DMA).
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell and Azure Automation.
• Knowledge of high availability, security, and performance tuning in Azure SQL.
• Experience implementing RBAC, TDE, and auditing in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and resource right-sizing.
