Description

You will manage MySQL database instances across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database instances, handling migrations, upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime.
• Monitor system health, storage, and capacity utilization using MySQL tools and third-party solutions.
• Implement and manage replication strategies, including Master-Slave, Group Replication, and MySQL Cluster.
• Optimize database performance by tuning queries, indexing, and schema design in collaboration with development teams.
• Establish backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures while enforcing security best practices such as access control and encryption.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in database administration.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Shell scripting, and Python for automating administrative tasks.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL Database management, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment in Cincinnati, OH, USA.
• Willingness to provide after-hours support and on-call assistance as needed.
• Understanding of security compliance standards such as GDPR and PCI-DSS.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based database deployments.
