Description

You will lead the migration of business logic and data from Sybase to MS SQL Server.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Sybase stored procedures to extract complex business logic and data manipulation techniques.
• Develop equivalent MS SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and triggers to replicate legacy functionality.
• Execute data migration and validation tasks to ensure accurate transfer from Sybase to MS SQL Server.
• Implement security measures, user access controls, and data protection within the MS SQL Server environment.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization for migrated stored procedures and queries.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as an MS SQL Developer or Engineer.
• Proven experience with Sybase to MS SQL Server migrations.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and Sybase stored procedures.
• Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, specifically EC2 and RDS.
• Proficiency in Unix systems administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with ETL tools and data migration processes.
• Ability to write efficient, optimized SQL code for MS SQL Server.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft certifications such as MCSA: SQL Server or MCSE: Data Platform.
• Knowledge of AWS database services like Aurora or DynamoDB.
