Description

You will manage and optimize high-availability MS-SQL Server environments across multiple versions. You own the stability, performance, and security of these systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and patch SQL Server instances in standalone and cluster environments.
• Manage high availability and disaster recovery via SQL Server Cluster (FCI), Always On, and Database Mirroring.
• Troubleshoot critical performance issues involving TempDb, transaction logs, system databases, and indexing.
• Execute database migrations and upgrades from legacy versions (2005/2008 R2/2012/2014) to current versions (2016/2017/2019).
• Maintain technical documentation including configuration standards, SOPs, and disaster recovery plans.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in MS-SQL database administration.
• Deep expertise with SQL Server versions 2005 through 2019.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server clustering, Always On, and Database Mirroring.
• Proficiency in database backup and restore strategies (Full, Transaction, Diff, File Group).
• Strong performance tuning, monitoring, and index maintenance skills.
• Experience managing SQL Agent jobs and replication technologies.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server (2003 through 2019).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SSRS, SSAS, or SSIS.
• Knowledge of Transactional Replication.
• Cloud experience with Azure or AWS.
