Description

You will own the migration and steady-state management of large-scale SQL Server environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade legacy SQL Server environments and build new SQL Server 2022 instances.
• Design storage layouts, configure TempDB, and tune system performance using indexing and execution plans.
• Migrate databases from older versions using backup/restore, log shipping, or export/import strategies.
• Manage daily DBA tasks including backup schedules, access provisioning, and SQL Agent job administration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support migration activities across SAP, SAP BusinessObjects, and OpenText platforms.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong proficiency with SQL Server, T-SQL, and database performance fundamentals.
• Experience with database migration techniques (backup/restore, log shipping).
• Familiarity with database collation requirements, permissions, and version compatibility.
• Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Experience with monitoring database environments and reviewing error logs.
• Knowledge of indexing strategies, query execution plans, and wait statistics.
• Exposure to Unix/Linux environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting SAP or OpenText database platforms.
