Description

You will manage and maintain SQL Server environments within a large enterprise setting. You will own the operational health of VLDBs, ensuring high availability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot SQL Server versions 2008 through 2016.
• Execute performance and index tuning for Very Large Databases (VLDBs).
• Manage backups, restores, and participate in regular disaster recovery drills.
• Implement high availability using Always On, Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication, and Clustering.
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledgebase articles.

Required Skills

• 7-10 years of continuous, recent MS SQL Server DBA experience in an operational role.
• Expertise in T-SQL and VB Script.
• Experience with Data Warehouse technologies, including SSIS, Cubes, and Report Server.
• Practical knowledge of database partitioning and capacity planning tools.
• Solid understanding of network, storage, tiered application environments, and security.
• Proficiency with corporate ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Ability to work independently and within team environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SSAA, SSRS, and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, SOX regulations, or healthcare industry environments.
• Experience with Data Center migrations or SQL Server certifications.
