Description

You will own the management and operation of MSSQL database environments across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Provision MSSQL instances in clustered and non-clustered configurations, including replication, Azure, and AWS support.
• Ensure database performance, security, and availability across all environments.
• Handle database administration tasks such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations.
• Monitor database health, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis for incidents.
• Partner with application teams to design scalable database structures from development to production.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in MSSQL Database Domain (On Prem and cloud) with Database Operations experience.
• Strong proficiency in MSSQL database management, specifically versions 2019 and 2022.
• Solid understanding of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting MSSQL server, including Always ON Availability Groups, Replication, and Clustering.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
• Experience designing and automating repetitive processes to ensure consistency.
• Good hands-on PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Knowledge of cloud services, preferably Azure and AWS.
• Experience developing and testing backup and recovery strategies with DR exposure.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of ITIL change and incident management processes.
• Experience developing and maintaining documentation, including SOE and Runbooks.
