You will provide policy analysis on Defense-related organizational topics and support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Responsibilities
Author official written documents, including DoD issuances, memos, and papers, following the DoD Manual for Written Correspondence.
Conduct integrated analysis of complex factors to assess institutional environments for policy implementation.
Build relationships across DoD Components to gather data on strategic initiatives and status updates.
Synthesize complex information and research into succinct briefings and reports for senior leadership decision-making.
Propose solutions to complex DoD organizational problems and assist with management reforms.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, National Security Affairs, International Relations, International Economics, or a related field with 10+ years of experience (or Master's with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years).
Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Deep familiarity with DoD/OSD organization, strategy, policies, and decision-making processes.
Expertise in the DoD Manual for Written Correspondence and the DoD staff coordination process.
Proven ability to negotiate consensus on controversial or contentious issues with senior executives.
Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience using MS SharePoint and other knowledge management or collaborative tools.
