Responsibilities

• Design network solutions for:
• Data centers
• Private cloud
• Public cloud
• Build and validate solutions using:
• Labs, POCs, automation
• Define architecture standards and design patterns
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation
• Design modern DC networks:
• L2/L3, routing, segmentation
• EVPN/VXLAN, high availability
• Work with cloud, platform, security, and app teams
• Convert business requirements into technical designs
• Create clear architecture/design documents
• Evaluate new networking and cloud technologies

Core Technical Skills

1. Data Center & Core Networking

• Leaf-Spine architecture, SDN
• Protocols: BGP, VPN, VXLAN
• Core networking: MPLS, DWDM
• Tools: Cisco ACI / Arista

2. Kubernetes Networking

• CNIs: Cilium, Calico, OVN-K
• BGP peering with DC fabrics
• Ingress, load balancing, traffic engineering
• Running modern apps on Kubernetes platforms

3. Cloud Connectivity

• AWS Direct Connect
• Azure ExpressRoute
• Google Cloud Interconnect
• NaaS providers: Equinix Fabric, Megaport

4. Automation

• Terraform / Ansible (at least one strong)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Config-as-code concepts

5. Programming

• Python or Go
• Ability to read, modify, and write scripts/tools

6. Observability & Troubleshooting

• Tools: Splunk, Prometheus, ThousandEyes, Kentik
• Network + application monitoring

7. Soft Skills

• Work with technical & business stakeholders
• Gather requirements and translate into designs
• Strong communication & presentation skills
• Ability to influence decisions
