Description

You will lead the planning, design, implementation, and operation of complex network infrastructure projects in Pleasanton, CA.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network infrastructure, including system configurations and standard enforcement.
• Manage network security by reviewing designs for risk and enforcing policies, ACLs, and VPN configurations.
• Optimize network performance through monitoring, troubleshooting outages, capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering peers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery of internetworking solutions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in network architecture and engineering.
• Expertise with Cisco hardware, specifically Nexus 9K, VPC, and NX-OS.
• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, RIP, and EIGRP.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA, and F5 Load Balancers.
• Deep understanding of OSI layers 2-7, including STP, ARP, QOS, and multicast/anycast concepts.
• Experience with Cisco Viptela SD-WAN design and implementation.
• Proficiency with network automation using Ansible or Python.
• Experience with Juniper Junos Pulse VPN and MPLS networks.
• Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments.
• Ability to use administration and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios, and Netflow.
• Scripting skills in Perl and UNIX shell.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cisco DNA Center and SIEM familiarity.
• Knowledge of Cisco Fabric Interconnect configuration.
