Description

You will engineer and maintain the network automation toolset for device discovery, data collection, and reporting.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation tools using Python and Perl to support network change management and workflows.
• Transform operational needs into deployable automation solutions and conduct tooling audits to identify remediation changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for network automation and write clear documentation.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines following software lifecycle principles.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Python for creating API-based services and supporting existing scripts.
• Proficiency in networking protocols including TCP/IP, VLAN, and ACL.
• Experience with Ansible Tower or Ansible Automation Platform for managing network devices.
• Knowledge of RESTful API principles, HTTP methods, authentication, and data serialization.
• Experience utilizing version control systems such as Git (BitBucket/GitHub).
• Familiarity with database management systems, specifically MongoDB.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify automation opportunities and optimize workflows.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Flask or Django frameworks for building APIs.
• Relevant certifications in Networking (CCNA/CCNP) or RedHat Ansible.
