Network Automation Engineer

You will build and maintain the automation tooling for device asset discovery, data collection, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the automation toolset using Python and legacy Perl for asset discovery and data collection.
• Enhance existing scripts to improve workflows and network change management by incorporating new technologies.
• Adapt operational and functional needs into concrete automation solutions.
• Conduct tooling audits to assess operational coverage and build necessary remediation changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for network automation solutions.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python for creating new API-based services and supporting existing scripts.
• Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and concepts (VLAN, ACL).
• Prior experience with network automation or change management workflows.
• Familiarity with Ansible Tower or Ansible Automation Platform for network device management.
• Understanding of RESTful API principles, HTTP methods, and data serialization.
• Experience with version control systems, specifically Git (BitBucket/GitHub).
• Knowledge of database management systems like MongoDB for data storage and retrieval.
• Experience of 8+ years relevant to network automation and tooling.
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation for users and developers.
