You will provide technical support for a large nationwide network within a 24x7 Network Operations Control Center (NOCC).
Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze network alarm conditions to proactively identify and minimize disruptions.
Perform root cause analysis to develop action plans for restoring customer services.
Troubleshoot channelized and unchanneled T1, T3, Ethernet, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, WAN, LAN, SONET, and TDM using DACs equipment.
Coordinate with LEC, ILEC, and IXC providers to resolve WAN problems and assist onsite field technicians remotely.
Required Skills
Demonstrated experience with Layer 1 troubleshooting.
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Networking, IT, or a related field with 2 years of experience, or an Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience.
Equivalent professional work experience in lieu of a degree.
Willingness to learn TDM technologies.
Ability to work in an onsite 24x7 environment requiring shift and workday flexibility.
Proficiency with Cisco Prime, SNMPc, Orion, and Netflow.
Working knowledge of UNIX and CCNA certification.
Preferred Skills
Networking experience across Layers 1, 2, and 3.
Experience with SONET and/or Time Division Multiplexing (TDM).
