Description

You will manage and support network infrastructure in a remotely administered lights-out environment. You will deploy and provide tier 2/3 support for Cisco routers, Catalyst switches, and Palo Alto devices. You will develop standard operating procedures, topology diagrams, and IP addressing assignments. You will draft configuration change control proposals for CCB submission. You will operate out-of-band management and serial consoles to troubleshoot circuit and connectivity issues. You will install and use open-source software for network performance testing and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support Cisco Catalyst switches, ASR/ISR routers, and ASA Firepower devices.
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto 3000 and 500 series security devices.
• Manage network protocols including MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, FlexVPN, and VRFs.
• Implement and troubleshoot STP, VTP, 802.1q, LACP, and 802.1x NAC.
• Maintain heterogeneous LAN, WAN, and 802.11 wireless networks with Cisco VOIP.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise or service provider environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Cisco IOS command syntax and Nexus 5000 platforms.
• Proficiency with packet decoding tools such as Wireshark, Ethereal, or tcpdump.
• Solid understanding of the TCP/IP stack and network services (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP).
• Active DOE or DOD Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience scripting network operations using Python or Ansible.
