Description

You will manage, configure, and troubleshoot routed and switched networks within an enterprise production environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and operate intermediate to complex routed and switched networks, including WAN connections to remote sites.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, software, and application-layer issues to resolve patterned and non-repeatable problems.
  • Design and implement wireless solutions using Cisco controllers, including voice over WLAN and outdoor mesh.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPN solutions, and wireless access points.
  • Document network configurations and technical processes clearly and concisely.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking environments.
  • Expert understanding of IPv4 and working knowledge of IPv6.
  • Deep knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Layer 2 technologies.
  • Proficiency with routing protocols including EIGRP, RIPv2, and troubleshooting complex IPv4 routing issues.
  • Experience implementing TCP/IP-based services including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, and SMTP.
  • Hands-on experience with redundant technologies such as HSRP, spanning tree, and VRRP.
  • Knowledge of MPLS, QoS, CIDR, and Multicast.
  • Ability to use network monitoring tools such as MRTG, Cacti, SmokePing, and Client Overview.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing network systems running Windows, Linux, or Unix.
  • Knowledge of Metro Ethernet, DWDM, and optical technologies.
