Description

You will design and implement network architecture solutions focused on performance, stability, and cost-efficiency. This role involves assessing impacts on FIRE, EMD, and NYC emergency operations while defining standards alongside vendors and project managers. You will own the full system lifecycle, including configuration, security, and troubleshooting of routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop network architecture solutions based on availability and development requirements.
• Coordinate system lifecycle management, including network system configuration and security.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Deliver senior-level presentations to executive management.
• Define standards alongside vendors and project managers.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in technical or business application platforms and methodologies.
• Expertise in BGP and OSPF protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista hardware.
• Proficiency with F5 and AVI load balancing.
• Direct experience managing Palo Alto and Fortigate firewall security portfolios.
• Technical knowledge of ESInet, Core Services, and Class 3 GIS design.
• Familiarity with NECA Standards.

Preferred Skills

• CCIE, Cisco ACI, or F5/AVI certifications.
• Azure or OCI cloud networking experience.
• Network Security Architect (NSE) 7 or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer certifications.
