Description

You will manage and troubleshoot complex IBM z/OS network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security for enterprise systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain IBM z/OS Communications Server, including TCP/IP stacks, SNA, VTAM, and APPN.
• Analyze network traces and packet captures to resolve complex connectivity and performance issues.
• Manage digital certificates, keyrings, and secure protocols (SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP, FTPS) via Policy Agent.
• Support enterprise printing systems, 3270 emulators, and secure file transfer tools like Connect:Direct.
• Generate performance reports and conduct capacity planning using SMF data, REXX, CLIST, or Java.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in engineering roles.
• Deep understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, SNA, VTAM, APPN, Enterprise Extender.
• Expertise in IBM z/OS Communications Server and Policy Agent (Pagent).
• Proficiency in network analysis tools, including packet capture and sniffer traces.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Java or equivalent languages.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and scripting (REXX, CLIST).
• Familiarity with PuTTY, WinSCP, and ServiceNow.

Preferred Skills

• Master's Degree or relevant certifications.
• Experience participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
