Description

You will manage physical and logical network infrastructure within a data center environment. You will own the release and stability of the network fabric through direct hardware and software management.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical hardware swaps including fabric, backbone, optical transceivers, circuit diagnosis, line cards, and TOR replacement.
• Execute remote link troubleshooting and review hardware logs to isolate and identify root causes.
• Manage hardware RMAs through vendor coordination and maintain asset and ticket management systems.
• Maintain physical layer integrity by managing fiber optic connections, contamination, and cleaning while following ESD best practices.
• Mentor and guide L1 resources and build relationships with partner teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of IT-related experience.
• Strong understanding of OSI layers, network principles, and IP-based networking.
• Proficiency with text-based CLI.
• Knowledge of BGP routing protocols, spanning tree, VRRP, and LACP.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and scripting/automation using Bash, Python, or Perl.
• A+/Network+ level of knowledge.
• Familiarity with network procedures, environmental, and safety management in a DC environment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Preferred Skills

• Data center operations experience.
