Description

You will manage the network engineering lifecycle, from troubleshooting to technology implementation and vendor fix certification.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Investigate root causes and recreate network problems in lab environments to certify vendor fixes or design changes.
• Develop scripts to proactively identify known defect signatures and define non-intrusive recovery processes.
• Plan and prepare for new technology introduction, including reviewing and signing off on lab designs.
• Develop and test detailed procedures for new technology rollout, ensuring smooth handoff to Operations and Project Management.
• Serve as the customer interface for scheduling network changes and coordinating the Change Management process.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering.
• Proficient understanding of Cisco routers and switches, including IOS configuration and upgrades.
• Expert proficiency in BGP, OSPF, GDOI, Crypto, GetVPN, IPSec, Multicast, ACL, and GRE tunnels.
• Proficiency in Layer 1 (T1, T3, OC3, frame relay, satellite, microwave, wireless) and Layer 2/3 Protocols.
• Proficiency in network design, analysis, and implementation.
• Proficiency in Layer 2 Ethernet circuits and dot1Q encapsulation.
• Basic understanding of RF and Signaling techniques.
• Operate and use network management tools for fault, configuration, performance, and security monitoring.
• Understand and apply escalation, incident, and change management processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with any graduate level education in a related technical field.
