Description

You will design and develop IP/SR-MPLS backbones, XGS-PON access layers, and transport infrastructure for a multi-state fiber optic network.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement SP network designs, including documentation, MOPs, and technical diagrams.
• Develop architectures for PON last-mile, AE last-mile, and IP/SRMPLS backbone technologies.
• Provide turnup and test information for new network builds and augmentations.
• Design customer service configurations for deployment via network automation and low-touch provisioning.
• Implement security requirements to protect against flooding and denial of service attacks.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of progressive network engineering experience in a large network environment.
• Direct experience working in a Service Provider (ISP/CSP) environment.
• Deep understanding of BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and ISIS.
• Proficiency with network protocols such as DNS, SNMP, Syslog, AAA, and DHCP.
• Knowledge of VRFs, LAG, CGNAT, and VOIP.
• Familiarity with network operating systems like IOS-XR or JUNOS.
• Understanding of FTTx design and PON access technologies like XGS-PON or Active Ethernet.

Preferred Skills

• Segment Routing experience.
• Associate level certifications such as CCNP or JNCIA.
• Four-year engineering degree.
