Description

You will support the complete network equipment refresh effort, specifically migrating from Cisco 8540 to Cisco 9800 Wireless Controllers.

Responsibilities

  • Set up wireless access points, VLANs, SSIDs, policies, and security settings.
  • Implement advanced features including RF management, guest access, and seamless roaming.
  • Diagnose and resolve wireless network issues like connectivity problems and performance degradation.
  • Apply patches and software upgrades to maintain controller security and functionality.
  • Document configurations, topologies, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco 9800 controllers deployment, configuration, and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco 8540 controllers deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Expertise in wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi design and RF principles.
  • Proficiency with networking protocols such as 802.11, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
  • Experience configuring security protocols like WPA2/WPA3 and 802.1X.
  • Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience performing wireless site surveys and interference mitigation.
