Description

You will manage the staging, configuration, and deployment of Cisco ASR 9000 series routers for service provider core networks.

Responsibilities

• Stage hardware at the Eastern Data Center and apply configurations following best practices.
• Deploy and transition core routers into regional POPs during approved after-hours maintenance windows.
• Perform fault isolation, remediation, and Root Cause Analysis to ensure service availability.
• Develop implementation plans and coordinate deployment projects with external agencies.
• Implement new service component releases following controlled change and release management processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Cisco ASR platforms, specifically ASR 9902, 9903, 9904, and ASR 9000 Series nV technology.
• Hands-on experience upgrading OS for suites of ASR routers and physical installation in remote WAN POPs.
• Proficiency with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, and IOS-XR.
• Deep knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, EBGP, IBGP, and MPLS.
• Experience with VRFs, VRF-Lite, L2TPVPN, and Layer 2/3 Ether-channels.
• Technical expertise in VLANs, HSRP, ACLs, and Network Virtualization.
• Knowledge of AAA services (TACACS+, Radius), NetFlow V5/V9, IP SLA, and SNMP V2/V3.
• Experience managing Service Provider, WAN, Data Center, and Metro Ethernet networks.
• Ability to manage projects and direct the work of others through implementation.

Preferred Skills

• Cisco Certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or CCDE.
• ITIL Foundations Certification.
