Description

You will manage the design, implementation, and administration of large-scale network and telecommunications services in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and engineer network and voice cabling solutions.
  • Troubleshoot major and minor network failures and coordinate with vendors for resolution.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and network capacity.
  • Manage vendor relationships, support agreements, and network billing validation.
  • Document communications technologies, topologies, and emerging trends.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering and large-scale network analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, and IP networking concepts including subnetting and routing.
  • Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, WAP, and cabling standards.
  • Proficiency with Cradlepoint and NetCloud.
  • Experience installing, testing, and inspecting data communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of wireline and wireless technologies including fiber optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS, cellular/5G, CDMA, TDMA, and VoIP.
  • Proficiency in MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel statewide, including occasional overnight stays.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience installing, migrating, and supporting critical, multi-site networks.
