Description

You will design and implement cluster networking architecture for K3s hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Design networking for K3s hybrid clusters supporting multi-interface and multi-network scenarios.
• Configure and optimize CNI plugins using Multus, Cilium, or Calico.
• Develop custom Kubernetes controllers and operators in Go to manage networking resources declaratively.
• Manage IP address allocation and DNS integration across nodes, pods, and external interfaces.
• Bridge cluster networking with underlay/overlay networks including VLANs and BGP.
• Implement network policies, encryption, and observability using tools like Cilium Hubble and Prometheus.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes/K3s networking and CNI plugins.
• Hands-on experience with Multus CNI for multi-network attachment.
• Strong knowledge of Cilium or Calico for networking and security.
• Experience with bare-metal load balancers such as MetalLB and BGP.
• Proficiency developing Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go using controller-runtime, Kubebuilder, or Operator SDK.
• Experience with IP address management (IPAM) and DHCP/DNS integration.
• Practical knowledge of VLAN configuration and bridging external networks into Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Linux networking including netlink, iproute2, and eBPF tools.
• Security expertise in multi-network Kubernetes, including RBAC and network policies.
