Description

Execute network deployment, migration, and validation tasks for data center compute migrations.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-migration assessments, cutover activities, and post-migration validation for data center compute migrations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workload migration with minimal downtime.
• Manage circuit provisioning, cross-connects, and troubleshooting with third-party vendors and carriers.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including migration runbooks, diagrams, and IP allocation records.
• Ensure all network changes adhere to change management processes, security policies, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• 5-8 years of network engineering experience, with a focus on data center environments.
• Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise routers and switches (Nexus, IOSXR, IOSXE).
• Strong working knowledge of BGP, including session establishment, route advertisement, and manipulation.
• Practical experience with network segmentation using VRFs and VLANs for workload isolation.
• Familiarity with data center architectures, including spine-leaf topologies, Segment Routing, and EVPN.
• Proficient in IPAM, subnetting, re-addressing, and allocation for migrating workloads between differing IP schemes.
• Experience using monitoring tools like Probers, Wireshark, and SNMP for health checks and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of QoS policies, ACLs, and firewall rule coordination relevant to migration traffic flows.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Python, Ansible, or similar tools for automating configuration generation and validation.
• Basic experience with load balancers (e.g., Citrix NetScaler) and VIP migrations.
