Description

Architect and enhance enterprise network monitoring solutions to improve system visibility and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead event correlation, topology modeling, and root cause analysis across complex network environments.
• Optimize monitoring tools such as VMware SMARTS, Broadcom DX NetOps, ScienceLogic SL1, and IBM Netcool to improve NOC effectiveness.
• Design service-aware monitoring aligned with business impact and integrate platforms with SIEM/SOAR tools.
• Implement automation, AIOps, and predictive analytics while mentoring engineering teams on outcome-driven practices.
• Establish governance and best practices for monitoring configuration, data quality, and alert noise reduction.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in network monitoring, network engineering, or NOC operations within large enterprise or federal environments.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring platforms including VMware SMARTS, Broadcom DX NetOps, ScienceLogic SL1, IBM Netcool, or similar.
• Expertise in event correlation, alarm management, topology modeling, and dependency mapping.
• Strong background in root cause analysis for complex distributed systems and troubleshooting complex network issues.
• Deep understanding of SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, telemetry, syslog, WAN/LAN, firewalls, load balancers, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience integrating monitoring tools with SIEM platforms such as Splunk and reducing alert noise.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with AIOps and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Elastic, or LogicMonitor.
• Experience with automation and scripting using Python and APIs.
