Description

You will provide network engineering support for the CJIS project, managing equipment deployment and connectivity for municipal police departments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute rack and stack, software upgrades, and hardware installations for CJIS equipment in SDC.
• Configure VPC, Fabric Path, and FEX installations to support CJIS 5k implementation.
• Troubleshoot and update PSDN-connected routers (CJRT and SPRT) to maintain statewide connectivity.
• Provide technical guidance to municipal police departments regarding LAN to PSDN/WAN connectivity.
• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting using sniffer traces and resolve network tickets via FootPrints.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or related roles.
• CCNA level certification.
• Proficiency with Cisco IOS CLI, Nexus switches, and ASR routers.
• Hands-on experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Deep understanding of LAN protocols: VLAN, PVLAN, VTP, STP, RSTP, MSTP, HSRP, GLBP, and VPC.
• Experience with WAN technologies: ASE, Frame Relay, ATM, L2VPN, and L3VPN.
• Knowledge of network management tools: SNMP, Syslog, Netflow, Wireshark, and SolarWinds.
• Familiarity with AAA architecture (TACACS+, RADIUS) and client protocols (DHCP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, TFTP).
• Ability to create technical documentation and network diagrams using Visio.
