The Contractor shall perform network security tasks for various state agencies, specifically focusing on:
· Administrative Daily Responsibilities: Review and execution of Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests.
· Infrastructure Modernization: Facilitating the decommissioning and “refresh” of End-of-Life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis.
· Compliance Maintenance: Implementing security controls and configurations to ensure agencies remain in alignment with IRS, FBI, and CJI compliance standards.
· Hardware Administration: Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
3. Operational Requirements & Schedule
The Contractor is expected to mirror the duties and availability of a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) staff member:
· Standard Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
· On-Call Rotation: Participation in a weekly on-call rotation to address after-hours incidents.
· After-Hours Maintenance: Availability for scheduled maintenance windows or emergency response situations outside of standard business hours.
· Background checks: Must be able to pass Criminal, financial backgrounds and drug test
4. Technical Qualifications
The Contractor should show base Knowledge and maintain proficiency in:
· Palo Alto Firewalls: Next-generation firewall features such as, Zones, security policies, S2S VPN, Natting, and basic threat prevention
· Cisco ASA Firewalls: Configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management.
· General Networking: foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, OSI model ETC
