Description

You will protect information systems and computer networks by defending against hackers and cyber-attacks. You will monitor network traffic and server logs to identify unusual activity, identify vulnerabilities, and provide mitigation recommendations. You will investigate security breaches, develop response strategies, and maintain security using firewalls, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanning. You will participate in incident response activities and a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

Required Skills

• 2+ years experience with Tenable/Nessus vulnerability scanning.
• Knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles including CIA triad, authentication, and non-repudiation.
• Experience with host and network access control mechanisms (ACLs, capability lists).
• Proficiency in system administration, network, and OS hardening techniques.
• Knowledge of cyber attack stages: reconnaissance, scanning, and privilege escalation.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux, IOS, Android, and Windows operating systems.
• Ability to use penetration testing tools and network analysis tools.
• Skill in detecting host and network-based intrusions using technologies like Snort.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques.
