Description

You will manage the generation, coordination, and execution of internal and carrier test plans to ensure product interoperability within legacy networks. You will own the technical delivery of Layer-0, Layer-1, and Layer-2 configurations, providing expert engineering support and hands-on lab work including manual product installation and fiber optic patching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for customer network architecture and interoperability to verify equipment functionality and security.
• Prepare implementation plans and provide Tier III/Tier IV remote assistance for customer troubleshooting, installation, and field deployment.
• Create technical documentation, including network diagrams, signal flow diagrams, and detailed equipment specifications.
• Perform hands-on lab work involving pluggable handling and fiber optic manipulation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications and networking.
• Strong knowledge of OTN, SONET, DWDM, ROADM, (n)OADM, and SDH architectures.
• Experience with Carrier Ethernet architecture, provisioning, and implementation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical writing.
• Familiarity with fiber optics, including ISP (patches/connectors) and OSP (fiber characterization and OTDR).
• Ability to read and follow network diagrams, cabling guides, and signal flow diagrams.
• Active Security Clearance.
• Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 (IAT Level II or higher) certification.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs for equipment installation.
