Description

You will manage physical network infrastructure, hardware maintenance, and circuit migrations in Pittsburgh, PA.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute break-fix tasks by inspecting devices, replacing components, and troubleshooting hardware failures.
• Perform physical deployments including rack/stack/jack installation, cable management, and northbound cabling for fiber, copper, and power.
• Handle provisioning tasks such as installing cables or optics for new circuits and reconnecting existing ones.
• Manage equipment inventory, labeling, serial number recording, and e-waste cleanup activities.
• Support data integrity through tape backup cassette exchange and adherence to data eradication processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of proven experience in a network administrator role.
• Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching.
• Expertise in managing, controlling, and monitoring server infrastructure.
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
• Practical knowledge of physical layer tasks including SFP/GBIC installation, fiber cleaning, and light level testing.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
• CCNA, Network+, CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE certifications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with firewalls and Internet VPN remote implementation and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
