Must-Have Skills

5+ years of hands-on Network Engineering / Network Operations / Technical Support experience
Strong production troubleshooting across Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, QinQ, ARP, DHCP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6
Hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF/IS-IS
Experience with VRF, Routing Policies, NAT/CGNAT, QoS
Strong understanding of IP routing, packet flow, and hop-by-hop troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with network device CLI
Strong Wireshark / tcpdump experience
Experience analyzing network logs, alarms, counters, routing tables, and telemetry
Strong broadband/network service provider experience
Experience troubleshooting customer connectivity, packet loss, latency, routing, DNS, DHCP, and Internet reachability
Strong RCA, Incident Management, and Problem Management experience
Ability to isolate issues across Access, Aggregation, Transport, IP/Routing, Service, and Customer Premises
